John had me look at a place in central Oregon, since he and his wife are building there (check out his site roundupranchconstruction.blogspot.com/). I investigated and decided to try to build there (as opposed to Grass Valley, CA) primarily because of costs reasons. In addition, as the realtor said “There is no poison oak, poison sumac or poison ivy.”. Moreover, the central Oregon ticks don’t find me as tasty as the Grass Valley ones did!
The site has been purchased and the main shell has been constructed and covered. The external windows and doors are up, there is a working kitchen, bathroom, utility room, and I am moved in. The house has been finaled.
There is still a LOT of work to do to finish up.
